A study involving 66 active-duty police officers in the Midwest assessed various fitness components, including VO2max, muscular endurance, and muscular power, and their correlation with job performance metrics. Results indicated significant relationships between certain fitness variables—specifically, counter movement jump, sit-ups, and plank time—and simulated job performance, explaining approximately 29.4% of the variance in performance outcomes. The findings suggest that enhanced fitness levels contribute to improved performance in tasks that require anaerobic capabilities, highlighting the need for further research on fitness impacts across different job demands.
