| Sumario: | The article focuses on assessing the dual task cost (DTC) of tandem gait (TG) performance between midlife veterans and collegiate athletes prior to an exercise intervention. The study involved ten collegiate student-athletes and eight veterans, who completed trials measuring their balance under single-task and dual-task conditions. Results indicated that increased active years in sports or military service were associated with slower TG times, but no significant differences were found between the two groups in terms of TG performance or DTC. The findings suggest a need for further research, as the limited sample size may have impacted the results. |
