Sumario:The article focuses on the effectiveness of high intensity resistance and impact training (HiRIT) in reducing the risk of osteoporotic fractures among older women in a clinical setting. A longitudinal cohort study involving 1,056 women assessed changes in bone mineral density (BMD), posture, and functional performance after a minimum of 10 months of HiRIT. Results indicated significant improvements in BMD and functional abilities, with greater benefits observed in premenopausal women compared to postmenopausal women. Additionally, participants with over 50% adherence to the training showed a notable reduction in fall and fracture risks, highlighting the potential of supervised HiRIT as a preventive measure for osteoporotic fractures.
