While safety concerns regarding neuro-endovascular procedures in pediatric patients are increasingly addressed, data on anesthesia-related complications in this population remains limited. This retrospective study aimed to analyze the anesthesia regimens and periprocedural complications in pediatric neuro-endovascular cases. Materials and Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted on pediatric patients (aged <18 years) undergoing neuro-endovascular procedures over 7 years. Data encompassing demographics, procedures, anesthesia details, complications, and outcomes were retrieved. Complications were categorized as intraprocedural and postprocedural, including anesthesia-related and procedure-related events. Statistical analysis was performed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences comparing categorical and continuous variables. Results: Out of 390 pediatric patient records screened, 325 underwent 352 procedures. The majority of procedures (95%) utilized balanced general anesthesia, with extubation achieved on-table in 77.5% of cases. Anesthesia-related complications were seen in 18 (5.1%) patients. Periprocedural complications occurred in 14.8% of cases. Complications did not significantly impact Glasgow Coma Scale outcomes at discharge. Mortality rate was 1.84%. Conclusion: Pediatric neuro-endovascular procedures demand meticulous anesthesia management to mitigate periprocedural complications. Despite the complexity and vulnerability of pediatric cerebrovascular conditions, outcomes were largely unaffected by complications.
