In other words, they have almost taken on the role of serving as the mirror of society. Considered the intellectuals of their time, minstrels have functioned as cultural ambassadors through various cultural visits and have strived to maintain this role throughout their lives. Davut Sulari, who is the subject of this study, was influenced by different social and musical cultures as a result of being a nomadic minstrel. He blended these influences with his own musical understanding and belief system, creating unique saz and voice performance styles. Sulari has been known for mastering the three most important elements of the minstrelsy tradition that are improvised poetry, saz and vocal performance. For this reason, the aim of this study is to examine the techniques of Davut Sulari’s saz/baglama performance.In line with this purpose, four performance examples of Sulari recorded on various platforms were analyzed by focusing on their performance characteristics and playing techniques. This study was conducted using document analysis as one of the qualitative research methods. Based on the results, several left-hand and right-hand playing techniques that shape Sulari’s unique performance style have been identified. It has been concluded that all these playing techniques contributed to shaping Sulari’s performance style. This study holds significant value as it transmits the works of Davut Sulari directly from their original source, as well as contributes to performers and the field itself. Âşıklar, var oldukları dönem içinde toplumun sosyal, kültürel, ekonomik ve siyasal yapısını, gelişen ve değişen durumlar karşısındaki duygu ve düşüncelerini üretmiş oldukları şiirler, müzikler ve hikâyeler ile yansıtmış, adeta toplumun aynası olma görevini üstlenmiş kişilerdir. Yaşadıkları zamanın entelektüeli olarak nitelendirilebilecek âşıklar, ömürleri boyunca yapmış oldukları çeşitli kültürel ziyaretlerle bir nevi kültür elçiliği vazifesi üstlenmiş ve bu durumu yaşamları boyunca sürdürmeye gayret etmişlerdir. Çalışmamıza konu olan Âşık Davut Sulari, gezgin âşık olma özelliği sebebiyle, farklı sosyal ve müzik kültürlerinden etkilenmiş, söz konusu bu durumu kendi ait olduğu müzikal anlayış ve inançsal yapı ile harmanlayarak özgün bir saz ve ses icrası tavrı meydana getirmiştir. Sulari, âşıklık geleneğindeki en önemli üç unsur olan, irticalen söz söyleme sanatı, ses ve saz icrası konusunda adından sıklıkla söz ettirmiş bir âşıktır. Bu sebeple, Âşık Davut Sulari’nin saz/bağlama icrasının icra teknikleri açısından incelenmesi bu araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Sulari’nin çeşitli platformlarda seslendirmiş olduğu dört adet icra örneği ele alınmış, bu örneklerde yer alan icra özellikleri ve çalım biçimleri incelenmiştir. Araştırma nitel bir çalışma özelliği taşıyıp döküman analizi yöntemiyle hazırlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda Sulari’nin seslendirmiş olduğu eserlerde kendisine ait çalım biçimini belirginleştiren bir takım sol ve sağ el icra teknikleri tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen bu icra tekniklerinin tamamının Sulari’nin icra biçimini meydana getiren unsurlar olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
