Based on semi-structured interviews, the study reflects on the challenges of building rapport in peer-to-peer research and on how the researcher's own profile operated as a class-based disciplinary device that shaped participants' narratives. It is argued that social class, embodied in a hegemonic phenotype, restricted openness around tastes perceived as "guilty pleasures." It was only by transgressing class mandates alongside the participants that the researcher ceased to occupy the position of the one who judges, thus enabling a space of trust in which participants could acknowledge their own transgressions. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: Spanish refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
