It is an integrative review of the literature in the following databases: LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE via PUBMED, Web of Science, CINAHL and SCOPUS, with the guiding question: what are the effects of educational technologies used by health professionals for parents of newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit? The selection was made through careful reading of titles, abstracts and full text. We analyzed 15 studies which highlighted different health education strategies, with the implication of encouraging parents' participation in child care and decisions related to health care for the baby, as well as reducing the negative feelings about hospitalization. Thus, it was possible to improve the knowledge of parents related to the environment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The reduced number of Brazilian studies with health education application to support the parents during the hospitalization of the premature child was evident, thus presenting a knowledge gap that can be supplied by sensitizing the professionals and researchers in order to apply support measures to parents. O objetivo é identificar na literatura nacional e internacional as ações de educação em saúde desenvolvidas com pais de recém-nascidos hospitalizados em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal e suas implicações. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura realizada nas seguintes bases de dados: LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE via PUBMED, Web of Science, CINAHL e SCOPUS, tendo como questão norteadora: quais os efeitos das tecnologias educacionais utilizadas pelos profissionais de saúde para os pais de recém-nascidos em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal? A seleção foi realizada mediante leitura minuciosa de títulos, resumos e texto completo. Foram analisados 15 estudos os quais destacaram diferentes estratégias de educação em saúde, tendo como implicação o incentivo à participação dos pais nos cuidados ao filho e sobre as decisões relativas à assistência em saúde ao bebê, além de promover a redução dos sentimentos negativos sobre a hospitalização. Assim, foi possível melhorar o conhecimento dos pais relacionado a ambiência da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal.
