Sumario:The article focuses on the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Clinical Scene Investigator (CSI) Academy, which empowers nurses to enhance patient care and work environments through structured projects. The neuroscience intensive care unit (NICU) at Cedars Sinai Medical Center participated in the 2023 Healthy Work Environment Go Big cohort, aiming to improve patient mobility and collaboration among staff. The project led to significant improvements in the Healthy Work Environment Assessment Tool (HWEAT) scores, increased documented out-of-bed activities, and a reduction in hospital-acquired infections and ventilator-associated events, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and staff engagement. The initiative highlighted the importance of teamwork and communication in fostering a healthier work environment.
