Hitit Yazılı Belgeleri ve Arkeolojik Veriler Işığında Anadolu'da Tavşan ve Tavşan Betimleri.
Hittite written sources can offer valuable insights into the fauna of the 2nd millennium BCE. However, the information derived from these diverse textual groups is insufficient to comprehend animal iconography fully. In this context, archaeological data play a complementary and crucial role. Hittite texts indicate that rabbits were primarily hunted for their meat as game animals. Rabbit meat is frequently mentioned alongside commonly consumed sheep and cattle meat. Moreover, rabbits were utilized for ritualistic purposes, as corroborated by the frequent discovery of rabbit bones in archaeological excavations from the same period. This study examines representations of rabbits in Hittite written records and visual art from the 2nd millennium BCE. The research aims to accurately interpret rabbits' significance during this era by integrating data from written sources with archaeological evidence. The findings highlight the frequent depiction of rabbits alongside eagles in the art of the Assyrian Trade Colony Period and the Hittite Period and the persistence of specific patterns in rabbit iconography that continued into later periods. Binyıl'da tavşan ikonografisinde belirli kalıpların olduğu ve bunların geç dönemlere dek süreklilik gösterdiği ortaya konmaktadır. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: Turkish refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: Y custom: Copyright of Arkeoloji Dergisi is the property of Ege University and its content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites without the copyright holder's express written permission.
