The sanctuaries, often located in remote places, attract pilgrims who walk long distances, although nowadays many choose to arrive by vehicle. Three main sanctuaries are analyzed: Andacollo, Lo Vásquez, and Yumbel, where it is observed that most pilgrims are men and women of various ages, with a relatively high level of education. The pilgrimage is presented as a family and community act, although it has been affected by modernization and a lack of ecclesiastical support. El artículo aborda la tradición de la peregrinación en Chile, destacando su larga historia y la forma en que se ha transformado con el tiempo. Los santuarios, a menudo ubicados en lugares remotos, atraen a peregrinos que caminan largas distancias, aunque hoy en día muchos optan por llegar en vehículos. Se analizan tres santuarios principales: Andacollo, Lo Vásquez y Yumbel, donde se observa que la mayoría de los peregrinos son hombres y mujeres de diversas edades, con un nivel educativo relativamente alto.
