This study aims to establish if hermeneutic phenomenology is an appropriate research approach to examine the MR phenomenon in nursing education utilising van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenology. A qualitative research design was employed, guided by social constructivist epistemology and van Manen's six research activities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with nursing students and analysed thematically using existential themes derived from a hermeneutic phenomenological framework. Themes such as lived space, embodiment, temporality, relationality, and cyborg relations emerged during this process, providing insights into how MR shaped students' learning experiences, interpersonal connections, and perceptions of nursing practice.
