Art therapy literature has documented several factors; however, there is no consensus on the terminology. This study utilized a qualitative metasynthesis, following PRISMA-ScR standards, to categorize change factors in art therapy. A total of 1,541 sources were reviewed, with 58 meeting the inclusion criteria and quality appraisal. The findings concluded that art therapy change factors fit the common factors model and there are four art therapy-specific factors of change: flow, material engagement, navigating relationships through art, and the creative product. The application of common and art-specific factors was discussed. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
