The field of gerontechnology emerged to advance aging-in-place possibilities in response to a globally increasing population of persons aged 65 and over. Yet, significant challenges to technology adoption remain. Gerontology nurse scientists and practitioners are well-positioned to address these challenges. However, they remain underrepresented in the field. No formal organization exists where international nurses leading technological innovations can collaborate and share knowledge – keeping up with the pace of innovation. We introduce the new Global Gerontechnology Center for Nursing Science, and share the mission, vision, values, and action plan.
