As constitutive of relations between beings, we also understand that language practices were deeply affected by modern/colonial rationality, having been isolated from life and nature, and subjected to allegedly universal purifying regimes, to serve colonial/nationalist projects of domination. Considering that alternatives to Modernity will not emerge from within Modernity itself, we seek to present trajectories of praxis of intercultural language education, based on experiences co-constructed in the Intercultural Education undergraduate course, at the Federal University of Goiás, grounded in the idea of friction with the Earth. Implemented through a pedagogical internship at an Indigenous school of the Kuikuro people in the Xingu Indigenous Territory, we seek to demonstrate how nature and relationships between beings and the territory form an epistemic matrix, through which communicative resources and practices are reconnected to life, cosmology, and contemporary demands for more sustainable ways of existing that we hope might inspire educational experiences in other times-spaces. Neste trabalho, partimos da compreensão de que uma das consequências contemporâneas mais drásticas do colonialismo é o dualismo radical entre razão e natureza, que forjou ideologias, práticas e políticas de uma humanidade alienada do organismo vivo que é a Terra, e que tem servido como justificativa para um intenso projeto de exaustão da natureza. Como constitutiva das relações entre os seres, entendemos que práticas de linguagem também foram profundamente afetadas pela racionalidade moderno/colonial, tendo sido isoladas da vida, da natureza e submetidas a regimes purificadores alegadamente universais, de modo a servir aos projetos coloniais/nacionalistas de dominação. Considerando que alternativas à modernidade não emergirão de dentro da própria modernidade, buscamos apresentar percursos da práxis de educação linguística intercultural, a partir de experiências co-construídas no curso de Educação Intercultural, da Universidade Federal de Goiás, fundadas na ideia de fricção com a Terra.
