Plautius Aelianus, particularly focusing on four key accomplishments recorded in an epitaph from Tibur (CIL XIV, 3608). It explores the relationships between the relocation of the Transdanuuiani, the suppression of Sarmatian disturbances, the homage paid to Roman standards, and the return of royal relatives, all framed within the concept of deditio, which signifies the acceptance of Roman authority by external communities. The analysis suggests that these actions may reflect a broader strategy of Roman governance and diplomacy in the region, particularly in response to external pressures from the Sarmatians. The article posits that the relocated populations likely included groups from the Dacians, Bastarnae, and Roxolani, emphasizing the complex interplay of military and diplomatic relations during Aelianus's governorship. Резюме: В исследовании рас сматриваются возможные связи между первыми четырьмя деяниями Тиберия Плавтия Сильвана Элиана в провинции Мёзия в период правления Нерона, упомянутыми в знаменитой надписи-панегирике в мавзолее у Понте-Лукано вблизи Тиволи (древнего Тибура) (CIL XIV, 3608). Исхо- дя из анализа различных точек зрения, сложившихся в историографии по поводу возможной причинной связи между первыми двумя деяниями, указанными в элогии, – переселением задунайских народов и по- давлением сарматских беспорядков, – мы попытаемся выйти за рамки чисто фактических связей, чтобы исследовать возможные взаимосвязи, относящиеся к формам осуществления римской власти в области внешних сношений. Анализ информации, содержащейся в погребальной надписи, показывает, что одним из ключевых объединяющих элементов между дипломатическими и военными успехами, приписываемы- ми Плавтию Элиану и выбранными для нашего исследования, является проявление deditio – доброволь- ного подчинения римской власти – со стороны народов, упомянутых в эпиграфическом тексте.
