      ab: Research has identified dual-task gait assessments as being more sensitive to balance and coordination deficits at baseline and postconcussion. However, research is inconclusive if dual-task differences are present in common static balance assessments used by clinicians. The purpose of this study was to assess the difference between single- and dual-task static balance utilizing the Sway Mobile Application in healthy college-aged adults. The dual-task condition yielded significantly worse overall Sway scores as well as for every Sway testing position (all positions: p ≤.01). Static balance performance was significantly lower when adding a simultaneous cognitive task, thus clinicians should consider adding a dual-task component to their already employed static balance protocol.
