The literary practice of letter writing is an empowerment fantasy. And an experiment. With the character of the letter, she establishes a subject that acts independently alongside the fictional author of the letter, extending its power to act to the existential limits of life and death. Mittels differenzierter methodischer Reflexionen auf Theorien der Brief-Forschung und der Exil-Forschung, der Akteur-Netzwerk-Theorie und Peter von Matts Theorie der Intrige kann der wissenschaftliche Essay die Brief-Erzählungen von Anna Seghers: ›Post ins Gelobte Land‹ (1945) und Kathrine Kressmann Taylor: ›Adressat unbekannt‹ (1938) als literarische Realisierungen einer in Macht gewendeten Ohnmacht lesen. Die literarische Briefpraxis ist eine Ermächtigungsphantasie. Und ein Experiment.
