Today, various reinterpretations of her work have emerged, particularly from queer perspectives in Latin America, seeking to find within her texts spaces of metaphor and allegory that can give meaning to new ways of understanding Mistralian thought. In this exercise, a queer rereading of Poema de Chile is carried out, reflecting on the possible metaphors that can be drawn between the mother-child journey through Chilean territory and the mother-queer child journey of discovering and confronting sex-gender dissidence. In doing so, conclusions are drawn about the possibilities offered by Gabriela Mistral's writing in relation to queer experiences in the Latin American context. La figura de Gabriela Mistral ha sido tema de debate desde hace décadas, principalmente en torno a las nociones de madre, profesora y poeta. Hoy en día, se han realizado diversas relecturas de su obra, en particular desde lo cuir en Latinoamérica, intentando encontrar dentro de sus textos espacios de metáfora y alegorías que puedan dar sentido a nuevas formas de entender el pensamiento mistraliano. En este ejercicio, se realiza una relectura cuir del Poema de Chile, que reflexiona en torno a las posibles metáforas que se pueden relevar entre el recorrido madre-niño por el territorio chileno y el recorrido madre-niño marica por el descubrimiento y confrontación con la disidencia sexo-genérica.
