ab: Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a cornerstone of speech pathology practice. In this What's the evidence?, Zaneta Mok, the new Senior Advisor Evidence-Based Practice and Research, provides an overview of EBP, implementation science and learning health systems. EBP has been traditionally conceptualised as a process to integrate different sources of information to support clinical decision making. However, EBP does not offer strategies to address barriers in its implementation, and evidence may be silent in the broader practice contexts. This commentary prompts discussion of how evidence is defined and making evidence visible and heard in practice contexts at the local and wider levels and stakeholders within the broader system.
