| Sumario: | Background: Diarrhoea disease is one of the major killer diseases among children under-five. However, death because of diarrhoea is preventable if promptly managed effectively at home. Objective: This study assessed the effectiveness of nurse-led health training intervention on the mothers' knowledge, attitude and practice of Home Management of Childhood Diarrhoea (HMCD). Methodology: The study was a one-group quasi-experimental study of 174 mothers with under-five children selected using multi-stage sampling technique. Data was collected with the aid of a questionnaire, was analysed with the aid of SPSS version 28 and presented in descriptive tables. Results: One hundred and seventy-four mothers participated in the study. The mean age was 32.7±9.75 years. At pre-intervention the knowledge of mothers on benefits and how to use Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) was poor, likewise many had negative attitude towards and poorly practiced HMCD. This significantly increased following the nurse-led health training intervention. Conclusion: Nurse-led health education intervention has proven to be effective in improving mothers with under-five children knowledge, attitude and practice HMCD. There is a need for integration of nurse-led education into the various community health programmes.
