| Sumario: | Social media serves as a dual-edged sword, by both fostering resistance and enabling the dissemination of nationalist ideologies through femicide issues. However, there is minimal research on how nationalist parties in Europe shape representations of femicide. This study used a quantitative analysis on femicide representations on X and Facebook-posts across Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey. Findings indicate that countries with higher nationalist and populist party votes during national parliamentary elections had more interactions, negative sentiments, and new social movements in femicide-related posts, underscoring the potential influence of populist political entities on femicide debates.
