| Sumario: | Introduction: The concept and practice of nursing prescription have evolved in recent years due to the continuous advancement of nursing science worldwide. Aim: This study aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of nursing prescription by analyzing its definition through contemporary literature findings and mapping its implementation on an international scale. Material & Method: An extensive literature review was conducted, covering the period from 2000 to 2024, across the databases PubMed, Google Scholar, Medline, Mendeley, and Scopus. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, along with the use of specific keywords. The final research sample consisted of 17 studies, selected from an initial pool of 81. Results: The literature highlights that the assignment of prescribing rights to nurses demands the recognition of needs, the development of policies and the establishment of a legal framework for expanded duties, with continuous education, specialization under strict conditions, opportunities for career advancement and ongoing inspection. Currently, more than 50 countries are developing and securing the potential for nurses to prescribe in order to meet the increasing demands of healthcare, with variations in both the job descriptions and the scope of educational policies implemented in the field of Nursing. In most countries where nursing prescribing has been institutionalized, nurses perform a range of activities, including prescribing diagnostic or preventive tests, medications, or medical examinations, in the areas of prevention, health promotion, chronic disease management and care coordination, either independently or with medical support, in hospital settings or primary healthcare facilities. Conclusions: The institutionalization of nursing prescription reflects the progress of numerous countries, the advancement of nursing science, and the effective utilization of highly trained nurses. Furthermore, it emphasizes the contribution of nursing prescription to addressing the increasingly complex demands of healthcare delivery. The upgrading of nursing roles positively impacts both the quality and functioning of healthcare services and professionals, as well as the satisfaction of the recipients of these services. Εισαγωγή: Η έννοια και η πρακτική της νοσηλευτικής συνταγογράφησης εξελίσσεται τα τελευταία χρόνια ακολουθώντας την εξέλιξη της νοση- λευτικής επιστήμης παγκοσμίως. Σκοπός της παρούσας βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης αποτελεί η ανά- πτυξη μιας ολοκληρωμένης αντίληψης για τη νοσηλευτική συνταγο- γράφηση, αναλύοντας την έννοιά της με ευρήματα από τη σύγχρονη βιβλιογραφία, χαρτογραφώντας τον τρόπο εφαρμογής της στον διεθνή χάρτη και αναδεικνύοντας τα οφέλη της. Υλικό & Μέθοδος: Πραγματοποιήθηκε εκτενής αναζήτηση βιβλιογραφί- ας, που δημοσιεύτηκε κατά τη χρονική περίοδο 2000-2024, στις βάσεις δεδομένων PubMed, Google Scholar, Medline, Mendeley και Scopus με κριτήρια εισαγωγής/αποκλεισμού και χρήση λέξεων-κλειδιών. Το τελι- κό δείγμα προς έρευνα ανήλθε στις 17 μελέτες, έναντι των 81 αρχικών που βρέθηκαν. Αποτελέσματα: Η βιβλιογραφία ανέδειξε ότι η εκχώρηση δικαιωμάτων συνταγογράφησης σε νοσηλευτές προϋποθέτει την αναγνώριση των αναγκών, την ανάπτυξη πολιτικών και τη δημιουργία θεσμικού πλαισίου των διευρυμένων καθηκόντων με συνεχή εκπαίδευση και εξειδίκευση με αυστηρές προϋποθέσεις, ευκαιρίες επαγγελματικής ανέλιξης και διαρκή έλεγχο. Περισσότερες από 50 χώρες αναπτύσσουν, επί του παρόντος, και κατοχυρώνουν τη δυνατότητα του νοσηλευτή για συνταγογράφηση ώστε να ανταποκριθούν στις αυξανόμενες απαιτήσεις υγειονομικής πε- ρίθαλψης με διαφοροποιήσεις τόσο ως προς το καθηκοντολόγιο, όσο και ως προς το φάσμα των εκπαιδευτικών πολιτικών που εφαρμόζουν στον τομέα της Νοσηλευτικής. Στις περισσότερες χώρες, όπου έχει θεσμοθε- τηθεί η νοσηλευτική συνταγογράφηση, οι νοσηλευτές πραγματοποιούν μια σειρά από δραστηριότητες, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της συνταγο- γράφησης διαγνωστικών ή προληπτικών εξετάσεων, φαρμακευτικών συνταγών ή ιατρικών εξετάσεων, στους τομείς της πρόληψης και της αγωγής υγείας και στη παρακολούθηση ασθενών με χρόνιες παθήσεις και στον συντονισμό της περίθαλψης, ανεξάρτητα ή/και με ιατρική αρωγή, ενδονοσοκομειακά ή σε δομές πρωτοβάθμιας φροντίδας. Συμπεράσματα: Η καθιέρωση του θεσμού της νοσηλευτικής συνταγο- γράφησης σε πολλά κράτη αντικατοπτρίζει την εξέλιξη της νοσηλευ- τικής επιστήμης και την άνοδο της αξιοποίησης των καταρτισμένων επιστημονικά νοσηλευτών, καθώς και την εκπλήρωση των απαιτητικών αναγκών της υγειονομικής περίθαλψης. Θετικά επηρεάζονται με την αναβάθμιση των νοσηλευτικών ρόλων τόσο η ποιότητα και η λειτουργία των υπηρεσιών και των επαγγελματιών υγείας, όσο και η ικανοποίηση των αποδεκτών αυτών των υπηρεσιών . |
