While these groups vary in focus, their discourse frequently includes misogynistic elements. This study examines user comments on X (formerly Twitter) in response to news posts from independent outlets reporting the murders of two women in Türkiye on 4 October 2024. A total of 534 comments across 27 posts by three independent news outlets were analysed using participant observation. The findings indicate that manosphere narratives are present in online discussions surrounding femicide, often employing gendered and violent language. While some users condemned the murders, others engaged in rhetoric that downplayed or justified gender-based violence. These discussions contribute to a digital environment where responses to femicide are shaped by competing narratives, including those that challenge and those that reinforce misogynistic discourse.
