      ab: Objective: To compare kinematics in reaching tasks between healthy participants and people with stroke. Method: Participants moved rapidly while seated, in the forward, ipsilateral, and contralateral directions. Results: In total, 61 healthy participants and 35 people with stroke were recruited. Differences included shoulder (8.18; P = .04), movement unit (1.29; P <.001) in the forward, movement unit (2.39; P <.001) in the ipsilateral, and hand acceleration (1000.99; P = .01), movement unit (1.46; P <.001), and shoulder flexion (11.45; P <.001) in the contralateral. Conclusions: Movement patterns in people with stroke can impact functional abilities, emphasizing tailored rehabilitation.
