Sumario:The article focuses on the Wasl Tower, a 995-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper in Dubai designed by UNS (formerly UNStudio) and engineered by Werner Sobek AG, set for completion in March 2026. The tower emphasizes architectural restraint and sustainability, featuring a twisting form optimized through computational modeling to reduce wind loads by about 20 percent, enabling material efficiency and a leaner structure. Its facade incorporates thousands of parametrically tuned ceramic fins that limit solar heat gain by roughly 40 percent while allowing daylight and passive cooling, complemented by energy-saving mechanical systems and lightweight construction methods that reduce embodied carbon.
