In this article we intend to focus on the concepts of natural will and deliberative will in Saint Albert the Great. For this purpose, two works of the Universal Doctor are analyzed, these are: the Summa de creaturis, written in 1242 and the Summa theologiae, of 1274. These writings, published in two different stages of the intellectual career of the chosen author, allow us to carry out an evaluation regarding the changes in nuances and expressions regarding the chosen topic. Additionally, this approach allows us to establish the theoretical bases for a future study on the possible influence of the teaching of the Master of Cologne, mainly what is stated in the Summa de creaturis, on the work of Saint Thomas Aquinas.
