El objeto del presente artículo es esbozar las grandes líneas de la relación entre bien común político y bien particular en el Aquinate; mostrar la inviabilidad de formular una definición del bien común político en Sto. Tomás según el planteo liberalindividualista del conjunto de condiciones para la perfección de la persona; y, por último, detectar algunas apariciones de esta fórmula y de sus antecedentes en el seno de la doctrina de filósofos y teólogos tomistas de la primera mitad del s.
