This study examines the extent to which Minika GO magazine reflects the root values outlined in the 2019 Turkish Language Curriculum and evaluates its adequacy as a medium for values education. The research adopts a qualitative design based on document analysis. The dataset consists of 58 issues of Minika GO magazine published between 2018 and 2022 were analyzed. Each issue was systematically analyzed to identify and categorize value representations according to the framework of root values specified in the curriculum. The findings indicate that the most frequently emphasized value in the magazine is benevolence, followed by responsibility, love, respect, self-control, patriotism, friendship, justice, patience, and honesty. While the magazine incorporates a broad range of values, the distribution is uneven, with some values receiving considerably more emphasis than others. The study concludes that Minika GO has the potential to support values education but may benefit from a more balanced and systematic representation of core values. It is recommended that publishers and educators collaborate to align children’s periodicals more closely with curricular goals to enhance their educational impact. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: Turkish refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
