His image, which we obtain from Jewish sources, is mainly determined by the foundation of the colonia Aelia Capitolina and the Bar Kochba War. But what the non-Jewish population thought of him is as yet unknown. A Greek inscription published in 1994 seemed to be such a non-Jewish voice. According to the text, a kome dedicated something to the Olympian gods and Hadrian. The text was at first available only in a transcript. When the inscription was offered in the antique trade in 2003, it was published again, but not the photo of the stone, which was available at that time. This photo, however, shows with all clarity that the inscription cannot be antique, but is a fake. A few years later, the same text appeared again, this time on a small bronze plaque, but when the owner was confronted with the identical text on stone, it immediately disappeared. The text of the two inscriptions is a modern forgery, which cannot reduce the gap in our knowledge about the province in Hadrianic times. Die Provinz Judäa spielte in der Politik Hadrians von Beginn an eine entscheidende Rolle. Sein Bild, das wir aus den jüdischen Quellen erhalten, ist vor allem durch die Gründung der colonia Aelia Capitolina und den Bar Kochba Krieg bestimmt. Wie aber die nichtjüdische Bevölkerung zu ihm stand, ist bisher unbekannt. Eine griechische Inschrift, die im Jahr 1994 publiziert wurde, schien eine solche nichtjüdische Stimme zu sein. Denn nach dem Text hat eine kome den olympischen Göttern und Hadrian etwas dediziert. Der Text lag zunächst nur in einer Abschrift vor. Als die Inschrift 2003 im Antiquitätenhandel angeboten wurde, wurde sie erneut publiziert, nicht jedoch das Photo des Steins, das damals verfügbar war. Dieses aber zeigt mit aller Deutlichkeit, dass die Inschrift nicht antik sein kann, sondern gefälscht ist. Wenige Jahre später tauchte derselbe Text erneut auf, diesmal auf einer kleinen Bronzetafel, die aber, da der Besitzer mit dem identischen Text auf Stein konfrontiert wurde, sogleich wieder verschwand.
