      ab: Background: Marine remedies constitute a distinct but underexplored category in homoeopathic Materia Medica. Their thematic coherence and clinical utility remain insufficiently characterized. Objective: To delineate the characteristic themes of marine-derived remedies and to examine the proving symptoms, repertory rubrics, and clinical applications of Aqua marina (sea water). Methods: Review of classical provings (Wesselhoeft 1871, Sankaran), clinical literature (Clarke, Skinner), thematic analyses (Evans, Manglavori), and repertory data (Complete Repertory). Results: Marine remedies share eight core themes: vulnerability/need for protection; wave-like emotional cycles; dependence-independence conflict; sensitivity to intrusion; glandular (especially thyroid) affinity; issues with nourishment; movement modalities; and connection to water. Aqua marina demonstrates a distinct picture: silent, resigned grief (deeper than Natrum muriaticum); delusion of being watched/spied upon; globus hystericus; thyroid pathology (myxedema, goiter); left-sided predominance; aggravation from noise and company; amelioration from cold drinks and being near the sea. Clinical applications include ophthalmia (amelioration from sea-water bathing), chronic skin conditions, and hormonal disorders. Conclusions: Aqua marina is indicated for patients with chronic grief, hypersensitivity to observation, and thyroid or ocular affections, particularly when symptoms improve near the sea. Recognition of marine group themes enhances differential prescribing.
