| Sumario: | Significance & Background: Infusion clinic has recently expanded and hired many new staff members. However, there is a noticeable knowledge gap regarding the management of infusion reactions. This gap presents a potential risk to patient safety and care quality. LeBoeuf and Pritchett (2020) highlight the importance of mock drills in improving emergency response skills and team confidence in outpatient oncology settings. Schiavone (2009) emphasizes the increasing complexity and acuity of oncology patients in outpatient care, necessitating enhanced emergency preparedness. Therefore, addressing this educational need is critical. Purpose: To implement a nurse-led mock infusion reaction drill within the Infusion clinic by December 2025, aimed at increasing new staff's knowledge and confidence in managing infusion reactions thereby improving patient safety and emergency preparedness in the expanded team. Interventions: This QI project follows the PDSA framework. In the Plan phase, infusion reaction scenarios are created, and relevant training materials are prepared. During the Do phase, nurses participate in mock drills to practice managing these reactions, followed by structured debriefings to review performance and identify areas for improvement. In the Study phase, feedback is gathered from participants and analyzed to pinpoint strengths and areas needing enhancement. Finally, in the Act phase, the feedback is used to refine the scenarios and training materials, ensuring continuous improvement in nurse preparedness and patient safety. Results: Among 20 participants, preliminary feedback indicates a significant increase in nurses' self-reported knowledge and preparedness to manage infusion reactions, rising from 33.3% in the pre-test to 75% in the post-test following participation in the mock drill. In response to these encouraging results, infusion leadership has committed to integrating the drill into the annual competency checklist starting next fiscal year. Formal data collection and outcome measurement efforts are ongoing to monitor progress toward targeted improvements in patient safety and interdisciplinary team communication. Discussion: This QI project demonstrates that simulated infusion reaction drills can effectively improve nursing staff preparedness and confidence, thereby enhancing patient safety. The engagement of infusion leadership underscores the importance and relevance of this initiative. Moving forward, the drill will be integrated into routine staff competency assessments. Future steps include expanding the scenarios and evaluating long-term impacts on patient outcomes. This initiative contributes to advancing oncology nursing practice by reinforcing critical clinical skills.
