Purpose: To describe and evaluate the multifaceted role of the nurse coordinator in the preparation and delivery of MIBG therapy, highlighting the impact of nursing coordination on treatment outcomes, patient experience, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Interventions: This descriptive analysis outlines the nurse coordinator's responsibilities across three core domains: * Education - Providing developmentally appropriate instruction to patients and families regarding radiation safety, isolation protocols, and emotional coping strategies. * Environmental Safety - Leading the preparation of the lead-lined isolation room, ensuring supply readiness, and minimizing unnecessary staff exposure. * Clinical Optimization - Overseeing thyroid protection protocols (e.g., potassium iodide or Lugol's solution), conducting pre-treatment assessments, and managing residual symptoms from prior therapies. Coordination with oncologists, radiation safety officers, and child life specialists was integral to the process. Preliminary data were collected on treatment adherence, procedural delays, and family satisfaction. Results: Implementation of a nurse-led coordination model resulted in improved patient preparedness, reduced procedural delays, and enhanced family understanding of treatment protocols. Families reported lower anxiety levels and higher satisfaction with care delivery. Staff exposure incidents were minimized due to effective environmental planning and communication.
