Evaluating this process can help reduce discomfort and allow physicians to assess patient pain tolerance, supporting decisions on whether minimal, moderate, or general anesthesia is appropriate for the procedure. Purpose: This project aimed to improve patient satisfaction by implementing pre- and post-procedure surveys for SpaceOAR/fiducial placement. The goal was to ensure patients feel well-informed, supported, and less anxious throughout the process. Interventions: * RN assesses the patient's sedation needs (minimal vs. moderate) during consultation. * RN schedules the procedure and provides prep and day-of instructions. * On the procedure day, RN orients and preps the patient. * APP or MD obtains procedure consent. * GU physicians observe each other during one procedure to ensure consistency. * The Medical Director observes each physician once for quality assurance. * RN conducts a post-procedure call to complete a follow-up survey and assessment. Results: The pre-procedure survey assessed preparation, pain tolerance, and understanding of bowel prep. The post-procedure survey evaluated clarity of instructions, comfort with provider communication, and adequacy of pain management. Preparation & Understanding: 13 of 15 patients felt well-prepared. However, 3 reported unclear bowel prep instructions, and 1 felt they didn't have the opportunity to ask questions. Pain Tolerance: 7 patients reported high pain tolerance; 1 reported low. Communication & Support: 13 patients said RN instructions helped with post-procedure expectations. 10 reported clear, step- by-step communication from the APP/MD, 4 strongly agreed that the MD provided adequate pain control, 1 patient didn't understand the physician's language, and 1 felt they lacked opportunities to ask questions. Conclusion: Patients generally felt prepared and supported. However, gaps remain in bowel prep education, provider communication, and opportunities for patient questions. Discussion: This project identified areas for improvement in SpaceOAR preparation and care. While most patients felt heard and supported, enhancing communication to match patient learning levels remains a priority.
