| Sumario: | Significance & Background: Adherence to antineoplastic drug safety standards is critical in reducing risk to both patients and staff. Observational data revealed variation in practice during antineoplastic drug administration and handling, including improper PPE use, inconsistent use of closed system transfer devices (CSTDs), and missed opportunities for required bedside safety checks with DUAL MAR verification. Traditional didactic education sessions often fell short in engagement and knowledge retention. Emerging literature supports the effectiveness of interactive and experiential learning in improving clinical competencies among nurses. Purpose: To improve nurse knowledge and adherence to safe antineoplastic drug administration practices through the development and integration of an interactive educational video shown during oncology skills days. Interventions: An interdisciplinary collaboration with the hospital's Audio Visual (AV) team was initiated to produce a high-quality, interactive educational video. Nurse educators developed the script using institutional policies and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) best practices, which was then reviewed by clinical experts and the infection prevention team before undergoing iterative revisions. Filming captured each scene step-by-step, intentionally including both correct techniques and deliberate errors--such as improper PPE use, missed MAR checks, or incorrect setup of closed system devices. Nurses viewing the video were encouraged to identify mistakes in real time, fostering active participation, clinical reasoning, and discussion around proper protocols and rationale. The final stage of post-production involved editing for clarity and engagement, followed by a comprehensive review and approval from the educators. The final portion of the session included a chemotherapy spill drill simulation following the completion of the video. Results: The video was integrated into oncology skills days for both inpatient and outpatient nurses. Post-implementation data revealed: * 285 (92.2%) of oncology nurses attended the session. * Informal feedback and post-surveys indicated increased satisfaction with the format of interactive activities. * Increasing in knowledge of appropriate reporting of a hazardous spill (17%). * Additionally, ongoing nurse educator rounding audits demonstrated improved compliance with institutional standards for antineoplastic drug administration. Discussion: This project highlights the value of interactive, scenario-based education in oncology nursing. By leveraging AV resources and realistic simulation, education can shift from passive learning to practical, high-retention experiences. This format may serve as a replicable model for other high-risk practice areas.
