| Sumario: | The article presents the experience of a publisher of black women's writing, who lives in Canada. One of the first individuals to deal with the reality of black women's lives and experiences in Canada was a man, a Barbadian born writer, Austin Clark, who in the 1960s and 1970s wrote such novels as "The Meeting Place." Since that time the field of black writers and writing in Canada has broadened, as can be attested by the presence of the fine Canadian writer Cecil Foster on this panel and many others who are not present today. |
