ab: The article discusses the problems confronting black publishers and the publication of books by and about black people in the U.S. Primordial of these problems has been the lack of resources needed to capitalize on emerging technologies for publication. For black publishers acquisition of the technology for publishing works that are mainly political in nature would further buttress their works and would strengthen their self-reliance. The author first describes the origin of his publishing company, Black Classic Press, and then calls on black publishers to "go out on a limb" and take advantage of the technology of digital printing.
