        Skin impairment at vascular access device (VAD) sites presents a significant and multifaceted clinical challenge. To address this, an international consensus panel initiated the development of the first evidence- and consensus-based algorithm for managing skin impairment at VAD sites, now commonly known as catheter-associated skin injury (CASI). Ongoing advancements in CASI science include proposed new classification systems to further refine understanding and guide tailored interventions.
        Les atteintes cutanées au niveau des sites d'insertion des dispositifs d'accès vasculaire (DAV) constituent un défi clinique majeur et complexe. Pour remédier à cette situation, un groupe international de spécialistes a mis au point un premier algorithme fondé sur des données probantes et sur un consensus pour la prise en charge des atteintes cutanées aux sites d'insertion d'un DAV, désormais communément appelées lésions cutanées associées aux cathéters. Les récentes avancées dans ce domaine comprennent la proposition de nouveaux systèmes de classification, destinés à mieux comprendre ces lésions et à guider des interventions adaptées à chaque patient.
