Based on a survey of female participants in the FBI’s National Academy (NA), it identifies common obstacles such as gender-based stereotypes, limited mentorship, and physical demands, while emphasizing the importance of training, professional associations, and peer support. The Texas Police Chiefs Association’s Women’s Executive Leadership Committee (WELC) mentorship program is presented as a successful model for supporting women’s leadership development. Respondents recommend improvements including tailored equipment, fair promotion practices, flexible policies supporting motherhood, and stronger mentorship networks to foster a more inclusive law enforcement environment. pubtype: Periodical doctype: Abstract src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
