| Sumario: | In this article, I analyze how technology, in the Black Mirror episode "Man Against Fire," acts as a narrative device capable of manipulating the subject's identity and moral judgment. Drawing on Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutics, I explore the notion of narrative identity and the way in which technology reconfigures the experience of time and memory. I argue that the MASS device imposes a prefabricated narrative that disrupts the protagonist's ability to narrate himself, leading to a stripping away of his identity and a loss of moral autonomy. I demonstrate how technology creates symbolic worlds and visual metaphors that transform the perception of the other and alter the structure of moral judgment. Finally, I contend that the viewer, by participating in the reconfiguration of the narrative, is also confronted by the moral issues raised by the series. En el presente artículo, analizo cómo la tecnología, en el episodio "El hombre contra el fuego" de Black Mirror, actúa como un dispositivo narrativo capaz de manipular la identidad y el juicio moral del sujeto. A partir de la hermenéutica de Paul Ricoeur, exploro la noción de identidad narrativa y la manera en que la tecnología reconfigura la experiencia del tiempo y la memoria. Argumento que el dispositivo MASS1 impone una narrativa prefabricada que interrumpe la capacidad del protagonista para narrarse a sí mismo, generando un despojo de su identidad y una pérdida de autonomía moral. Muestro cómo la tecnología crea mundos simbólicos y metáforas visuales que transforman la percepción del otro y alteran la estructura del juicio moral. Finalmente, sostengo que el espectador, al participar en la refiguración del relato, es también cuestionado por la problemática moral que plantea la serie. |
