| Sumario: | The purpose of this study is to identify and analyse the interpretations of the concept of "love" in Somerset Maugham's novel "Theatre" through the prism of literary, philosophical, and linguistic analysis. The study is conducted on the basis of the printed edition of the novel from 1937 and its electronic version from 2001, presented on the Internet Archive platform. A detailed analysis of more than 100 text fragments is conducted, in which the concept of love is revealed in various forms, including romantic love, pragmatic relationships, love as manipulation and maternal affection. The analysis shows that the author conveys the concept of love through theatrical symbolism, reflecting the duality of human feelings. Frequency analysis demonstrates that the key lexemes associated with love occur more than 200 times in the text, with love being the most commonly used term. Lexico-semantic analysis reveals the dominance of emotionally intense expressions of love, including intense epithets, complex syntactic constructions, and theatrical metaphors. The conducted study deepens the understanding of the philosophical and literary aspects of the work and may be useful for researching the evolution of interpretations of love in English literature, analysing theatrical metaphors, and comparing national models of love in different cultures. El objetivo de este estudio es identificar y analizar las interpretaciones del concepto de «amor» en la novela «Theatre» de Somerset Maugham a través del prisma del análisis literario, filosófico y lingüístico. El estudio se lleva a cabo basándose en la edición impresa de la novela de 1937 y en su versión electrónica de 2001, disponible en la plataforma Internet Archive. Se leva a cabo un análisis detallado de más de 100 fragmentos de texto, en los que el concepto de amor se revela en diversas formas, incluyendo el amor romántico, las relaciones pragmáticas, el amor como manipulación y el afecto maternal. El análisis muestra que el autor transmite el concepto de amor a través del simbolismo teatral, reflejando la dualidad de los sentimientos humanos. El análisis de frecuencia demuestra que los lexemas clave asociados con el amor aparecen más de 200 veces en el texto, siendo «amor» el término más utilizado. El análisis léxico-semántico revela el predominio de expresiones de amor emocionalmente intensas, incluyendo epítetos intensos, construcciones sintácticas complejas y metáforas teatrales. El estudio realizado profundiza en la comprensión de los aspectos filosóficos y literarios de la obra y puede ser útil para investigar la evolución de las interpretaciones del amor en la literatura inglesa, analizar metáforas teatrales y comparar modelos nacionales de amor en diferentes culturas. |
