Sumario:The article focuses on the expanding role of artificial intelligence (AI) in pharmacy practice, highlighting its potential to improve efficiency, personalize patient care, and transform pharmacists' roles through AI-enabled solutions such as clinical decision support, automated dispensing, and patient engagement tools. Despite growing research interest and endorsements from global organizations like the World Health Organization and the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), there remains limited evidence on the real-world adoption and impact of AI in pharmacy settings. Challenges include ethical considerations, workforce implications, digital literacy, and the need for updated education and training to equip pharmacists with AI competencies. The article introduces a themed issue aimed at advancing empirical research and practical insights on integrating AI responsibly and effectively into pharmacy practice worldwide.
