Description
Summary:This study investigates the determinants of happiness among Indonesian Muslims using the Maqasid Al-Shariah framework. We employed a quantitative approach with secondary data from the 2014 Indonesia Family Life Survey, which included 9,884 Muslims aged 15–64. A non-subjective happiness index was utilised to measure happiness, incorporating various determinants to provide an objective assessment. By employing Ordinary Least Squares regression, the analysis identifies religiosity, prayer, health, education, income, and marital status as significant positive factors influencing happiness. This research addresses a gap by offering a Maqasid Al-Shariah perspective on happiness, focusing on aspects that are often overlooked in literature concentrated on subjective and socioeconomic factors. The findings provide valuable insights into the well-being of Indonesian Muslims, promoting a comprehensive, faith-based understanding of happiness.
