| Sumario: | This article examines Chinese strategic narratives about the Global South since 2024, when the term began appearing in Sino-Russian joint statements. The views of Chinese policy experts about the roles that China and Russia play in the Global South are explored. Chinese narratives about the PRC's identity as a member and leader of the Global South set up a distinction between the roles of China and Russia in the Global South. The article concludes with a discussion of the implications of these perceived differences for Sino-Russian alignment in the Global South. |
