The research highlights various types of innovations, including improvements to the curriculum and the adoption of new technologies, which aim to instil a culture of constant learning and empower learners in a fast-changing world. The paper, as a case study, utilises the Malaysian higher education environment to illustrate how systematic changes have helped increase student enrolment and research output. The research is based on the main theoretical frameworks, such as TRA, TAM, and UTAUT, to clarify the factors that have a modulating influence on the process of acceptance and adoption of institutional innovations by students. Some of the fundamental variables that have been identified to influence adoption are the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, behavioural intention, social influence, and attitude towards usage. The results highlight the fact that the factors are key in supporting innovative culture in institutions and in improving educational practices that will place students in a better position to deal with current challenges competently in the future.
