ab: The article focuses on how somatic movement practices, particularly somatic dancing, enhance creativity by emphasizing internal body awareness, free and playful movement, and imaginative engagement. Somatic dance integrates both patterned choreography and spontaneous free dance, fostering cognitive flexibility, confidence, and self-expression through movement. Practices like Tamalpa Life/Art Process combine movement with other creative arts to deepen emotional and imaginative exploration. Playfulness and movement narratives in group settings further stimulate creativity by encouraging improvisation and shared storytelling. Overall, somatic movement supports holistic health by cultivating creativity, emotional intelligence, and adaptability in both movement and life.
