It presents 2024 skills scores for 17 work-related skills across occupations, highlighting adaptability as the most important skill overall, while interpersonal and customer service skills dominate in occupations with the largest projected job growth from 2024 to 2034. The article includes two case studies: one on critical and analytical thinking skills, which are concentrated in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) occupations and industries with above-average wages and growth; and another on mechanical skills, prevalent in mining, construction, and manufacturing industries, with some occupations like wind turbine service technicians projected to grow rapidly.
