However, despite this rich legacy, the historical trajectory has remained inadequately documented. This research seeks to address the lacuna by analyzing the history and source materials from the 1880s to the present day. The findings demonstrate that interest in European discourse facilitated the novel's initial introduction to Iran. Iran's early reception occurs after France and Russia. Global readings of Don Quijote influenced its perception in Iranian society. Iran's cultural memory—such as the concept of last days—shaped local interpretations. Don Quijote perdura en el contexto iraní como un clásico de la literatura mundial, que continúa suscitando un diálogo creativo y planteando persistentes enigmas hermenéuticos. Sin embargo, a pesar de este rico legado, su itinerario receptivo histórico ha permanecido insuficientemente documentado. Esta investigación pretende colmar esa laguna historiográfica mediante el análisis diacrónico de su recepción y de las fuentes documentales desde la década de 1880 hasta la actualidad. Los hallazgos evidencian que el interés por el discurso intelectual europeo facilitó la transferencia cultural inicial de la novela a Irán. La fase de acogida iraní se sitúa cronológicamente tras la de Francia y Rusia. Las diversas lecturas globales y horizontes de interpretación del Quijote condicionaron su asimilación crítica en la sociedad iraní.
