Sumario:The article provides an overview of the HUM hackathon held at the Estonian Literary Museum on 17–19 April 2026 and analyses it as an applied format for supporting the reuse of cultural heritage datasets. The article describes the preparation of the hackathon, the selection of datasets, the participants’ working process and the solutions they created. HUM hackathon showed that the creative use of cultural data requires combining technical skills with domain knowledge and supporting participants in technical questions as well as in understanding the data. An important part of the hackathon was documenting workflows so that hackathon results do not remain one-one-time prototypes, but support the principles of open science.
