Supervision plays a critical role in the professional development of social workers. Within the context of this article, readers will be guided through the nine competencies of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)'s Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS), followed by guiding questions with which supervisors and supervisees can engage. These questions can foster critical conversations around challenges faced in practicum around topics of race, power, and privilege. The inability to successfully integrate theory into practice and simultaneously center ADEI is detrimental to student learning and contrary to CSWE's 2022 EPAS. The authors offer theoretical frameworks to understand better the subtle nuances of integration and practice behaviors, constructing the methods and ways of integrating ADEI in supervision, similar in purpose to the former EPAS version. In the 2015 EPAS, practice behaviors were a source code supporting the ways field instructors can support these difficult dialogs in a supportive environment. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
