| Sumario: | Introduction: Cancer inequities for at-risk and vulnerable people remain a significant public health issue in Canada. Vulnerable populations experience higher rates of cancer incidence, mortality, and lower survival rates than other people. Aim: The lectureship aims to detail the design and implementation of cancer innovations in visualizing survivorship care to address health inequities and digital technological innovations in rural communities in British Columbia, provide the project's background, and discuss key factors that influenced its design and implementation. Methods: A mixed-methods approach was employed to identify facilitators and barriers in cancer survivorship care, focusing on rural communities in British Columbia. The study involved people with diagnosed breast cancer and utilized both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews informed by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research. The digital technological innovations and tools were developed by an expert stakeholder group which included academicians, researchers and practitioners, guided by trauma-informed practices, intersectionality, cultural safety, cultural humility, and adult learning principles. Results: Key recommended strategies for implementation included conducting knowledge translation with experts, partners, and stakeholders, tailoring supportive care to local contexts, assessing readiness for change, and utilizing community engagement forums and tailored digital technological innovations in rural communities. Conclusion: The development of collaborative research and engagement approaches shows promise in improving equitable access to healthcare services and cancer survivorship care in rural communities in British Columbia. Findings from implementation science play a crucial role in supporting individuals living with cancer by enhancing community engagement in research, planning, priority-setting, and policy development.
